8 UK Fitness Influencers to Follow On Instagram

I remember when I first joined Instagram and what we posted back then was our breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then that became uncool (unless you are Nigella Lawson) and people started posting relationship pics, cats and even travel. But in the last two years IG has become sort of like a directory filled with all sorts of experts but the most searched hashtag is #fitness with a whopping 442M posts!

Having said that, it’s hard to know where to look for accurate, responsible advice. We’ve gathered together some of our favourite UK fitness experts on Instagram to give your feed a stronger core

Joe Wicks

“I started my journey handing out flyers at my local train station, trying to get customers for my bootcamps in the park. Ten years and 600,000 clients later, I can hardly believe how amazing that journey has been. Along the way I’ve learned so much about why people succeed at getting and staying fit, healthy and happy. And I feel so lucky that I can put all that experience into this app. My dream is for it to help millions of people, no matter how fit you are, to smash your goals and feel amazing.”

Gemma Atkinson

Famously known for her pivotal role within the health and fitness industry, Gemma is the author of The Ultimate Body Plan, helping others to achieve their fitness goals.

Throughout her pregnancy, Gemma proved that women can still train, workout and stay healthy. Now, as a first time mum and a well-known Instagram fitness influencer, Gemma regularly documents her fitness journey as she goes through her postpartum recovery.

Gemma often posts simple and easy to follow workout videos and proves that parents can still find the time to exercise. Whilst posting about all things health and fitness, Gemma is also very realistic and shows that she still likes to relax, eat good food and enjoy life.

Alice Liveing

Alice Liveing is one of the UK’s leading female fitness Instagram influencers and we can absolutely see why!

With a wide range of informative books and as a monthly columnist for Women’s Health magazine, Alice is always on top of the latest trends within the health and fitness industry.

Alice regularly posts quick and easy-to-follow workout videos to her Instagram feed, as well as a range of delicious-looking recipes. Alongside this, Alice is keen to look and feel her best when training, so has launched her very own range of active wear with Primark.

Hendrick Famutimi

If you’ve ever done one of Hendrick’s classes at Rowbots or Equinox, you know this former Olympic powerlifter is a kind soul, a great instructor and also relentless in making you sweat. As well as showing off his incredible skills, Famutimi’s Instagram is a great source of myth-busting and inspiration, a place to go when you’ve heard 15 contradictory opinions and want someone to give you an answer on anything from weights to losing weight.

Dami Howells

She was named on GUAP 30 Under 30, has her own fitness clothing line that was featured in Vogue and WomensHealth to name a few. Dami is the woman to follow for un-intimidating, straight-forward home workouts from someone with a vaguely “normal” (but obviously still pretty ripped) physique.

Simeon Panda

With an Instagram following of 7.6 million, British-born, LA-based Simeon Panda is one of the most influential trainers on the planet. His body is, depending on which way you look at it, either ultimate goals or a little unnerving: Panda has a real-life waist-to-shoulder ratio that looks like it’s been photoshopped, gigantic traps, bulging calves and an eight pack.

He uses his channel to tease the secrets to his success (he is, of course, trying to push downloads of his online training programme, his YouTube channel and exercise-gear brand at the same time), with ultra-technical, gym-focused short videos that will help you to improve your form.

Nathan Williams

NATHAN WILLIAMS is an established Personal Trainer with over ten years of experience in the industry. Nathan’s clientele has varied over the years from children to some of the world’s best bodybuilders. He goes by the practice what you preach approach and sticks to the motto “leave no stone unturned” each day.

In this time, Nathan has transformed his body into becoming a Professional Natural Bodybuilding Overall World Champion.

Nathan worked his way through the amateur ranks as a first-time junior competitor by winning each competition starting with his junior category then the overall. He then went to the British finals a few months later and did the same thing and won the whole competition. In the process, Nathan earned his pro status by beating some of the most seasoned competitors, which isn’t usual for a young competitor. Roll on two competitive seasons later; he finally won the world championship title as a Professional.

Chanel Brown

Raised in London, Chanel Brown is a lifestyle blogger most commonly known for her dedication to the fitness and beauty industry. Former commercial model, Chanel, now dedicates her time in motivating others in leading a healthier and happier lifestyle. Her passion for fitness led her into becoming an inspirational icon to people around the world. Brown manages to make the difficult art of health and fitness sound much more attainable than it can feel at times, someone who understands everyone is on a different path and able to speak to every level.
